Dalby - most likely named after the pretty
little town of Dalby near the west coast of the Isle of Man - was
discovered by Henry Dennis in 1841.
Today Dalby is home to 10, 500
residents with a further 5, 200 in the surrounding Wambo Shire
and as a regional centre it caters for around 25, 000 people. Know
as "The
Hub of the Downs", Dalby is strategically located at the junction
of three highways.
Located just 211km west of Brisbane and 80km west
of Toowoomba, Dalby enjoys the relaxed atmosphere of a country
town. Being in the heart the Great South East it makes Dalby a convenient
base, with its many motels, to explore the rich Darling Downs
area.
Dalby is within easy access of major cities and the Gold and Sunshine
Coasts which are less than three hours drive away.
